Coderetreat is a day-long, intensive practice event, focusing on software development and design fundamentals, away from the pressures of 'getting things done'. This event is a part of the Global Day of Coderetreat, learn more about it: https://www.coderetreat.org
When: Saturday, November 4th 8:30AM - 5:00 PM
Where: Ocado Technology, High 5ive FOUR, Pawia 21, 31-154 Kraków
What to bring: Please bring your laptop with your preferred IDE installed.
We will open the doors at 8:30 am. We'll kick off with some introductions and offer a little breakfast until we start the program at 9:30 am. There will be three sessions in the morning and two sessions after lunch. The official program will end around 5:00 pm. Lunch, coffee, and beverages will be provided, so you can concentrate on pair-programming the whole day.
We’re providing developers the opportunity to take part in focused practice, away from the pressures of day-to-day work. It’s a great occasion to write code, learn from others, teach someone else, and expand your network of friends who are passionate about their craft.
Software developers and programming enthusiasts of all skill levels and backgrounds are welcome!
We will be running the event in English, if you are more comfortable speaking Polish let us know - we will do our best to accommodate that.
How Much? The Coderetreat is free!
How it goes
- Start with a simple programming problem: Conway's Game of Life
- Work with different partners to discuss and solve the problem
- Add restrictions to force you to consider different approaches
- After each round throw away the code and repeat what you practiced

Our venue is Ocado Technology (High 5ive FOUR). We will have one big room with a projector and a quieter room available. The only toilet is gender-neutral. We will work with the venue to try and meet your needs so that you have the possibility to be a part of this event.
